GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT BLOGS

But what is a "blog" and how does it differ from a typical website? To understand how you can make money from a blog, you need to have an understanding of exactly what a blog is and how it works.

Let's see how the experts define the blog:

A blog is a website whose contents are published at regular intervals and appear in reverse chronological order. The term blog is an abbreviation of the term weblog or web log. Writing a blog, maintaining or adding an article to an existing blog is called 'blogging'. Individual articles in a blog are called "blog posts", "posts" or "entries". The person who publishes these articles is called a 'blogger'.

A blog combines text, hyperlinks, images and links to other websites and to video, audio or other files. Blogs use a conversational style of documentation. Often blogs focus on a specific topic. Some blogs report personal experiences."

In essence, a blog is something like a diary that is available to anyone and presents its articles in chronological order, starting with the most recent, which is at the top of the page.

Each article in a blog may or may not receive comments. Now the blog is defined as a dialogue and not a monologue, so the vast majority of bloggers accept comments on their articles.

The best way to understand how a blog works is to read a few that deal with a subject you are interested in and post your comments.

Post comments

Posting comments on a blog is done in the following way:

Somewhere on the page there is a link of the style "comment" or "add your comment" or something similar. Clicking on this link opens a form where you enter your email, your name (if you want) and your comment or review or anything else you want to post in response to a post.

The blog is not what it seems

If you visit a Blog, you won't see much going on on the front page. You will see some articles, some links and some ads. But the truth is that beneath the surface there may be hundreds of articles, on which thousands of comments have been published.

We have already mentioned that the articles appear in chronological order. Thus, only the most recent posts appear on the first page. As time passes and the blogger publishes new posts, the older articles slowly move towards the bottom of the page, until they disappear and are moved to a folder called "archives".

If you click on the "archives" link, you will have access to all the files that have been published on this particular blog, which depending on the age of the blog and the activity of the blogger, can be hundreds.

Blogging is a profession

This is a profession that began to develop rapidly in 2004. Professional bloggers earn up to 30,000 euros per month by publishing articles on their blog, building email lists, displaying advertisements and promoting affiliate programs. The amount seems excessive and if you came across this information for the first time, you are probably thinking that I have made a mistake.

I haven't done anything wrong. Certainly 30,000 euros is an amount earned by blogs that attract a very large number of visitors and have a fanatical audience of regular readers, but there are many examples of blogs with moderate dynamics, which reach six figures a year.

More on the topic and how blogs can reach such numbers in a moment. What you should keep in mind for now is that a blog can replace your regular profession with great success. In particular, I will show you how to achieve this in the following pages.

Anyone can

You might think that those who have a blog or website are computer experts and have studied something similar. Most bloggers have no idea about HTML and programming. Under no circumstances would the companies behind the construction of websites and blogs limit the market to only those who are experts in programming languages.

In simpler words...

Whoever you are, whatever job you do, if you know how to write text in a word processor like Microsoft word, you can have your own website or blog in half an hour.
