The first step in acquiring your own website is to purchase one or more Domain Names. We rent the Domain Names for 2 years and we can not buy them once. Shortly before the expiration the tenant is entitled to renew the rental of a Domain Name by the state for the next 2 years.
In case the tenant does not renew the rent the Domain Name is deactivated but remains blocked for 15 days. In these 15 days the original tenant can submit a new rental application but with a more expensive cost. After 15 days and if the original tenant does not renew, the Domain Name is free to rent from any natural or legal person.
Is the Domain Name I need available?
To check which names are free to register (rent) you should visit the official website of the name register (Hostmaster) at htt://www.gr and not some other website or search engine (Google, etc).
The second step is to build your website. You will definitely need the logo of your company, to know the main body of your website (Menu) and it will be good to have ready the texts and photos that you want to display (products, services, etc). The rest of the materials are related to the content of the website you want to create and you will be informed about them by the web design company you choose.
After purchasing the name and creating your website, you need a web hosting package. The size and cost of the hosting package is related to the content of the website and the goals you have for your website. E.g. Indicatively, we mention that if you are interested in SEO, search engines (eg Google) rank the websites hosted on Greek Web Servers differently from those hosted on foreign Web Servers. Also a small website needs a simple and economical web hosting package while a web portal (Portal) with high demands on Video needs integrated Web Servers.
